Funktion 11 is influenced by a variety of musical genres with a sound of their own. The band members' unique musical backgrounds create a blend of original sound and style. Funktion 11 performs original material and cover songs from past to present injected with their own distinct arrangements, horn lines and grooves.

Influences include James Brown, Prince, Tower of Power, Michael Jackson, Kool and the Gang, Stevie Wonder, Miles Davis, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Erykah Badu, Beatles, Jay Z, Marvin Gaye, The Funk Brothers, Jill Scott, Chicago, Maceo Parker, Clark Terry, Run DMC, EWF, Aretha Franklin, Al Greene, D'angelo and the list goes on and on...
